Our 5th annual fun packed Museum Gala Festival on 11th-13th June went with a BANG when a gang of marauding pirates attacked the village of Stoke Bruerne on Nb George together with full pyrotechnics. Once disembarked, the pirates relieved festival goers of dubloons and pieces of eight at the points of their swords.
Luckily the Pitsford Local Defence Volunteers were on hand to protect the village and they also took the opportunity to train up some new young recruits ready for our Village at War event in October later this year.
Meanwhile visitors were treated to the sight of well over 30 historic boats, could buy yummy cheese and fudge from the trade boats, visit canal society stands, craft stalls and enjoy live music. There were also canal crafts, boat trips and a real ale bar. Not to mention being able to try their hands at archery and sip champagne with strawberries. And...there was a whole lot more to keep everyone entertained all through the weekend.
One festival goer was a fish out of water.
WI cakes were a hit
