FRIENDS OF THE CANAL MUSEUM

Stoke Bruerne, Northamptonshire

Mooring Information

Moorings for special events at Stoke Bruerne are managed by a dedicated Harbourmaster team working alongside the Canal and River Trust.

All requests for mooring space will only be accepted through the Harbourmaster Team. Please make any enquiries via e-mail to harbourmaster@friendsofcanalmuseum.org.uk or telephone 07721 871963.

Normal mooring restrictions are suspended for approximately a week before and a week after events to allow time for weekending craft to arrive and depart.

Contact is made with boat hire companies and marinas on the GU and Upper Nene to ensure they are aware and can advise their customers of the restrictions at Stoke Bruerne during events. We also contact the Association of Pleasure Craft Operators (APCO) to ensure their members (Hotel boats especially) are aware.

Volunteer lock keepers at Stoke Bruerne and Buckby are notified (through the appropriate CRT Volunteer leaders) to ensure they are aware of the restrictions in the same way.

Casual moorings are made available in the Long Pound for visiting craft not attending events. Any requests for assistance with passage during events or for wide beam craft wishing to go through Blisworth Tunnel should be made to the Harbourmaster using the contact information above.
